The time of day is 4:48 PM.

At 4:49 PM:

say "Your heart pounds. No time, no time, no time..."

At 4:52 PM:

say "Some preliminary banging and knocking[if the player is in Outdoors] round the front[otherwise] outside[end if]. The slaves will delay as long as possible, but you can't have much time left."

At 4:53 PM:

if a visible snoring Clemens incriminates the player,

say "[Clemens] groans and mutters in his sleep.

If they even look like they might be going to torture him, he will of course tell them everything about you.".

At 4:54 PM:

say "The delegation[if the player is in Outdoors] has gotten[otherwise] has come[end if] inside. Your servants, bless them, make as much noise as possible -- to warn you, in case you didn't already know."

At 4:55 PM:

say "Banging from the courtyard. You will soon have company."

At 4:56 PM:

say "The guards swear[if the player is in Outdoors] somewhere inside[otherwise] in the next room[end if], searching through your possessions in the most distressing way."

At 4:57 PM:

say "An amphora is broken[if the player is in Outdoors] somewhere inside[otherwise] in the next room[end if]."

At 4:58 PM:

say "The soldiers break through into [the Study], putting your quick work to an end. ";

move soldiers to the Study;

follow the endgame rules.
